We all do this: The green light is "stale" or the yellow light is on. In a split second, we decide to "go for it" and get through the intersection, instead of safely breaking to a stop. Sure, it is a judgment call, but THIS is the decision that can lead to life or death. In 2017, more people died from someone running a traffic light than any time in the last 10 years in the United States. Frankly, it doesn't matter where you were going if you end up in a wreck. https://www.kentucky.com/news/business/article234497557.html
Just be aware that your actions as a driver may affect other people as well. Two people die every day in the USA due to a person running a red light according to the AAA. Don't take that chance. Use that "split second" to decide to play it safe!
